Snorkeling in Villefranche-Sur-Mer

Today started with a trip to the Nice train station’s lost and found only my phone was not found…ugh. It had been stolen on the train last night, but I wanted to double check in case someone had a change of heart.

Moving on, it is our last day here in Nice and we planned to go snorkeling! We were all so excited. The tour guide said we had a bit of time before we took off, so we stopped into a restaurant next door. My mom ordered Jamon con Melon which was absolutely delicious and topped with balsamic beads of goodness.

Soon it was time to head out and we suited up with fins and snorkels. The guide took us to a dingy boat and we road the swells from Nice Harbor to Villefranche-Sur-Mer. After adjusting our masks, we jumped off the side of the boat into the Mediterranean. My mom was quickly pointing out silvery fish; Fierce showed us the schools of minnows and I really liked the sea urchins plunking themselves on the rocks. The sea floor is covered in boulders and purple seaweed that waves back and forth. A cute little jelly fish swam by as well. I can’t say there is an overwhelming amount to see, but it was a great day out on a boat and gave us a little adventure for the last day.

I tried to file a police report for my phone afterwards, but they wouldn’t do it if I didn’t have a receipt for the phone…ya, I don’t keep that on me. We decided to go shopping as we found our way to a dinner spot. Fierce voted for sushi and we all enjoyed a fishy dinner after a sea-filled day.
