Hello, Malta!
"Mom, you have got to put this in your blog!" After a pretty uneventful flight, I wasn't expecting the walk to the baggage claim to elicit such a response. I looked up from juggling out backpacks and saw an aquarium built into the wall. Fierce wanted to take pictures and we inspected the fish closer. It was definitely a nice surprise!
On our taxi ride to the hotel, I took in the scenery of Valletta. This city is the color of sand everywhere you look. The bricks seem to rise up out of the ground like a sand castle. It is very pretty and has an old world charm.
Our hotel is adorable. It has a vintage vibe with a bit of glam sprinkled on top.
After we settled in, I wanted to get some real food for the day. I told Fierce we would choose the first restaurant we found so we wouldn't wander, walk, or do any extra walking ;) I was true to my word and we tried an outdoor restaurant that was enclosed from the rain and had heaters running so we were warm. Pizza was delivered to Fierce for the 100th time this trip and I tried the Maltese traditional swordfish with capers and olives. Tasty!
Back at the hotel now and I am trying to decide what our first activities will be for tomorrow. It's supposed to rain all week, so I guess it just depends on our mood for the day. I still can't wait!
