Sveti Stefan & Old Town, Budva

We slept in, got ready for the day and opened our balcony shutters to the most beautiful view! Levantin Inn is set into the rocky hills and looks out to the Sveti Stefan Coast. Behind us, Mountains rise up and touch the sky which doesn't seem to know if it wants to smile or brood.

Taking it all in, the Adriatic Sea was calling us so we headed out to make it's aquantance. We meandered down the hill using little stone paths until we reached the shore. The recent storms have made the waves huge and bounding. At first we stood in front of the sand bags and then quickly ran behind them as the waves crashed on the stony beach. We weren't in any real danger, just didn't want to be wet for the rest of our walk.

There is a little private island with red roofs that is iconic to this area and one cannot help but fall in love with how gorgeous it is. I definitely took a hundred pictures and plan to take more tomorrow. We continued our walk along the shore up to a little hiking path just beyond the island which is stunning.

Our stomachs were starting to grumble so we asked a security guard for directoins to a cafe or restaurant and he explained in English/Montenegran that this whole area is off season and closed. We would have to take a bus to Budva about 15 minutes away to get some food. He was extremely helpful in showing us how to catch the bus and off we went to Old Town.

We stopped for brunch just outside Old Town and Fierce even played with some kids visiting from Serbia afterwards. Then we decided to explore a bit. As you enter through the arch to Old Town, you are enveloped into a long ago feel draped in quaint shops and cafes. At the center is a church and square with views for miles. In addition, the Citadel is absolutely worth checking out. You are able to walk up onto the outer walls and see the Adriatic on one side and Old Town down below on the other. It's beautiful.

Today was a lovely day.
