Surprise Fall Decorations for Grandma’s Condo

I called my Dad back after missing his call the other day. He had a great idea and I got to carry it out for him!

My Grandma and Grandpa can’t get out of their condo on their own so he asked me if I would go shopping and decorate their condo to reflect the fall season. Um…Yes!

I had a blast. I went shopping and picked out glass pumpkins to rest alongside fall leaves and candles in the entryway and along a shelf in their kitchen. I found a gold shimmer pillow with burgundy and burnt orange leaves to dress up their couch. The best part for me was finding the place setting pieces. I am obsessed with dishes and different ways of displaying foods and desserts. Going along with my pumpkin theme, I picked out glimmering orange place mats, a white plate to serve as a background for the orange, red, green and bronze leaf shaped plates I set on top. Of course, pumpkin pie was served and it was a good choice because my Grandpa said it was his favorite type of pie. I also set the table with a white tablecloth, a table runner that had a red pumpkin and the word “Blessings” embroidered on it and a leafy plant that has orange and red markings.

As I set all of this up, my Grandpa babysat Fierce. He is constantly saying how wonderful it is to have a new baby in the family. It is so precious to see Fierce in his arms.

I wish you could have seen my Grandma’s eyes when she arrived home. She was so surprised and her whole face seemed to light up. My Dad seriously does come up with the best ideas. I love my family and they truly are a blessing.
