British Afternoon Tea

UK

The all grown up little girl in me was loving the tier of British goodies set before me and as I took a bite of the melt-in-your-mouth chocolate macaroon...ahhh...decadent. Of course, I asked Fierce to take a picture of me pouring our Afternoon Tea as well.

We are back in England, but in a small Surrey town called Betchworth at Hartsfield Manor. It has a grand name and a grand look. We stayed in the little English cottage just down the drive, but had our dinners and tea in the manor.

The grounds have a little walking path and as we toured, Fierce spotted a very large chess set and challenged me to a match. Check and Mate, he defeated me, quite handidly. I decided not to ask for a rematch due to the cold, misty weather and we went back to our room in the cottage to have more tea and enjoy our cozy room.

Later, we walked back up the lane and had dinner. I had a very traditional English meat pie. Not only was the pie delicious, but even the veggies. I will no longer say that English food is bland. Well, not all of it anyways ;)

This is our last day and we really rested up. It feels good and I have felt so blessed this entire trip.
